Kladd

Norwegian for “a rough draft”

Hand-drawn diagrams, wireframes and presentations. All on your Mac.

Turn rough ideas into flowcharts, interface wireframes and presentations. Kladd combines a hand-drawn canvas with editable controls, thousands of icons and AI that draws beside you. Bring your FigJam boards and Balsamiq projects with you. Keep drawings as local files, organise them in folders, and present or export your work. Free during beta; €79 for a lifetime licence when the paid version launches.

Native Mac app · Swift + React · R6-2026-10-18 · macOS on Apple silicon · free during the beta · €79 once from release

What it does

Sketch ideas quickly

Draw diagrams and flowcharts, connect shapes, and use Quick Add to find shapes, controls and icons as you type.

Editable wireframes

Build interfaces with buttons, tables, tabs, menus, devices and other controls. Edit structured content as text.

4,607 icon names, one search

Browse a combined hand-drawn icon library without switching between sets.

Import FigJam and Balsamiq

Open .jam boards, .bmpr projects and legacy .bmml wireframes. Supported objects stay editable; formatting can differ, so keep your originals.

Pages and presentations

Arrange pages on one canvas, reorder them, add animation steps and present full-screen. Export pages to PDF, PNG or SVG.

AI on your canvas

Use Claude Code or ChatGPT through the sidebar on your own subscription. See changes as they happen and undo them normally.

A home for your drawings

Tabs, alphabetical folders, favourites and search keep projects organised. Open Library with ⇧⌘L, AI with ⌘J and Pages with ⌥⌘P.

Works with your agents

A local MCP server lets agents read and edit drawings and check screenshots, without switching your active tab.

Your files, on your Mac

Draw offline and save in the open .excalidraw format. No account is needed for drawing; AI features use your chosen provider.

Made for Mac

Apple silicon, macOS 12 or later. Signed and notarized, with automatic update checks and a free beta that needs no licence key.

Instead of Excalidraw+, Balsamiq, FigJam — and the subscription that comes with them.

Free while in beta.

When Kladd is released, we start charging: €79 once, a licence for life, on all your Macs. Until then it’s free.
