Kloss

Norwegian for “building block”

3D models for your 3D printer — as easy as building blocks, as exact as CAD.

Make parts for your 3D printer without learning CAD. Kloss puts shapes, holes and groups on a millimetre workplane, rounds any edge with an exact kernel, and adds gears, threads and hinges you can resize, sketches and AI that models beside you — in a proper Mac window with Shapes on the left and Properties on the right. Bring your STEP, STL, 3MF and OpenSCAD files with you. Keep models as local files and print them in Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer. Free during beta; €79 for a lifetime licence when the paid version launches.

What it does

Shapes on a workplane

17 basic shapes, sized to the millimetre. Pull a handle, or click a size and type 80, 2cm or 30+5.

Fillet and chamfer any edge

Press ⇧F, pick the edges, type a radius. An exact B-rep kernel rounds them, even after holes and groups, and says so when one won't fit.

Holes and groups

Make a shape a hole (H) and group it (G): the solids minus the holes. Bundle and intersect too, with watertight results for your slicer.

Code shapes

22 parametric starters: gears, bolts, nuts, threaded holes, hinges, springs, clips and enclosures. Or ask the AI for a new one, or open OpenSCAD files.

Sketch and extrude

Draw lines, arcs, curves and text in any Mac font on any face, then extrude or revolve it. SVG logos come in as sketches.

AI beside your model

Claude Code or ChatGPT (Codex) in the sidebar (A) on your own subscription. Attach images and PDFs, watch it build, undo anything.

Bring your parts

STEP files from your CAD app, STL, OBJ and 3MF meshes, OpenSCAD and SVG. STEP comes in as a mesh, so keep your originals.

Export and print

STL, OBJ, or 3MF with your colours. Print… (⌘P) opens the model in Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer, ready to slice.

Works with your agents

A local MCP server lets your agents build, fillet, measure and export in the background. Copy Reference (⇧⌘C) hands them a model or a selection.

Made for Mac

Tabs, folders, synced folders in Dropbox or iCloud, light and dark mode, and simple keys (⇧H lists them). Offline, in local files, on Apple silicon.

Instead of Tinkercad, SketchUp, Shapr3D — and the subscription that comes with them.

Free while in beta.

When Kloss is released, we start charging: €79 once, a licence for life, on all your Macs — after a 30-day free trial. Until then it’s free.
